A recent ruling made by a federal court got upheld against an ex-police chief of McComb named Mark Anderson. This meant that a 150 thousand sum be paid to Mark after his claims that the city made violations with respect to his processing rights got backed by the court. He had failed to get treated the right way when he was fired from his job 6 years ago.

Dennis Sweet, attorney to Mark, has been the pivotal force in his claims getting approved and for the past 6 years he has struggled a lot in his bid to prove that Mark was a target of false termination and a political conspiracy. The US. 5th circuit court of appeals that is situated in New Orleans decided and announced that McComb, as a city is responsible for the false termination of Mark Anderson.
Anderson was arrested during September of 2009 when he was also charged with the crime of impersonation of an officer. He had seen a demotion from chief to lieutenant just days before this arrest was made. During this time, he was wrongly told that he had a leave that extends to around 10 months and that his retirement plans are not clear t this moment.
Dennis told the federal court that Lockley, the city administrator at that time had wrongly indicated that Anderson was seeking retirement and had resigned (Even though Anderson says that he never even spoke with Lockley).This eventually led to Anderson’s arrest when he came back to work. At this time, he was left surprised by this sudden declaration and allegation.
Announcements like these only add strength to the credibility of this nation’s justice system. Here’s hoping that incidents like these continue to not be overlooked by the government and the courts.
